If playback doesn't begin The argument that neoliberalism is productive of a new form of professionalism is theoretically indebted to Foucault and ideas in his ‘governmentality lectures’ (see Foucault, 2008, 2009). In these lectures, Foucault addressed philosophically the nascent concept of neoliberalism as a new rationality for governing human beings which created new forms of human conduct shaped by the market (see Foucault, 2008 ).
